Job Description:
Job Description The RT(R)(M), with a focus on patient safety, is
required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of
practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws;
rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of
the employing health care institution or practice setting. The
RT(R)(M) functions under his or her own license and assumes
accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to
patients and their families according to the standards of practice.
The RT(R)(M) demonstrates responsibility for continued competence
in practice, and develops insight through reflection,
self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning. SHIFT & SCHEDULE:
PRN, All Shifts Available ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE
EXPECTATIONS Practices technology founded upon theoretical
knowledge and concepts, uses equipment and accessories consistent
with the purposes for which they were designed, and employs
procedures and techniques appropriately Assesses situations;
exercises care, discretion, and judgment; assumes responsibility
for professional decisions; and acts in the best interest of the
patient. Acts as an agent through observation and communication to
obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the
diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that
interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for
the profession. The technologist uses equipment and accessories,
employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance
with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise
in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other
members of the healthcare team. The Radiology Career Ladder
Radiology Career Ladder Policy is designed to recognize
professional excellence in relation to imaging. The policy outlines
the process by which the employee will be evaluated to ensure that
the employee is meeting minimum job level requirements to maintain
their current level on the career ladder, a mechanism for the
employee to advance up the ladder or for management to adjust their
level down if the employee does not meet the minimum requirements
for their current level. The Radiology Career Ladder Radiology

while the Radiology Career Ladder Evaluation Request form Radiology
Career Ladder Evaluation Request Form is where the employee
documents achievements and obtains approval to maintain same level
or advance to the next level EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Current
State of Texas License as a Radiology Technologist. ARRT registered
in Mammography or registry eligible. Must pass mammography registry
within 6 months of hire date. Licensure Requirements – 15
mammography direct CEU credit hours in a rolling three- year time
period in addition to the 24 CEU credit hours required for ARRT.
Prefer Minimum of 1 year of experience as a diagnostic
technologist. Documented 40 hours of mammography training and
completion of 25 exams under direct supervision of an experienced
technologist. Total Joint & Spine Center initial and annual
education: 1.5 hours PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be

essential functions. The individual must be able to: Ø Stand, walk,
sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to
35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.
The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another
individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum
limits.
