is hiring a Prototype Planning & Industrial Engineering Section
Manager to lead day-to-day responsibilities in the areas of
Prototype project planning, demand planning/management, and
Prototype Enginering (Industrial Engineering and Integration) as
required to meet the needs of the business and our customers to
make concepts tangible.Examples of typical work will include
providing leadership to ensure the following: Good Prototype
Planning (Job Planning & Scheduling, Material Demand Planning,
Resource Planning (Bays, People, Equipment, oversee Prototype
Problem Review Boards). Integration Engineers, Build Project Leads,
and Industrial Engineers. This individual will work directly with
Engineering managers, Supply Chain/Procurement, Quality Management,
to improve GROT (Good Requests On Time) and GMOT (Good Material On
Time) for project execution.Additional Responsibilities
Include:
- Identify, develop, and direct implementation of improvement
opportunities through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools, six
sigma, kaizen, flow efficiency, and other methods, as
appropriate.
- Own and partner with business unit leaders and their teams to
achieve financial and operational targets including safety,
quality, delivery, cost and labor planning.
- Develop and implement long and short-term strategies for
optimizing parts quality, delivery, inventory levels and material
costs.
- Develop and implement long and short-term strategies for
establishing and maintaining key partnerships with preferred
Outside Service Providers.
- Investigates and resolves demand planning problems/issues such
as cycle count accuracy discrepancies to ensure inventory
integrity.
- Lead and drive Prototype Planning and Prototype Industrial
Engineering best practices through the PFEP process (Plan For Every
Part).
- Own demand planning and optimization with our Materials Supply
Organization for effectively forecasting inventory levels and
inventory turns
- Facilitate training and development of employees including
performance reviews, frequent on-going feedback and setting SMART
goals and objectives.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business discipline with
Prototyping / Product Development environment (Will consider
equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of
degree).
- 5 or more years related experience in a demand planning,
industrial engineering, supply chain and/or manufacturing
environment.
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience
- Experience in a prototyping environment
- Experience with the defense industrial base
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving
skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal
skills
- Willing to work with processes and systems that are evolving
and subject to change
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as work
independently with minimal supervision
- Strong orientation toward continuous improvement - Lean/Six
Sigma
- Proven experience of building strong teams, creating a culture
of trust, and driving business excellence
- Must be self-motivated and resourceful
- Strong collaboration, training and coaching skills
- Ability to motivate teams and work efficiently cross
functionally
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Preferred
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Prior Prototype Planning Build Lead / Project Management
experience (from request through delivery).
- Experience in military product development
- Advanced degree, MS and/or MBA, or equivalent experience is
preferred
- 8 or more years related experience in a demand planning,
industrial engineering, supply chain and/or manufacturing
environment.
- 8 or more years of supervisory experience (direct or matrix
reporting)
- APICS certification a plus
- Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP systems - ORACLE preferred
- Familiarization with EPDMPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range:
$126610 - $215270Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and
